"Rule Over" Things on New Earth

What does it mean to "rule over many things"? Are we going to help Jesus rule on the earth? [Matthew 25:23, 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 5:10, Romans 8;17, Psalms 2:8, Psalms 37, Matthew 5:5].
